Mission College offers state-of-the-art
videoconferencing and television production services with high
quality audio and video telecommunications equipment. The College
has two separate facilities available in the Telecommunications
Building:
- the television studio
which can also serve as a distance learning classroom seating
up to 30 participants, and
- a large meeting room which
can accommodate over 70 participants.
Videoconferencing
Mission College uses a Tandberg 6000 videoconferencing system for high
quality connectivity.
The College has hosted or
originated several college level courses in cooperation with other
California higher education institutions. Current course
development includes an intensive vocational nursing program originating
at Mission College and available at Cabrillo College in Aptos.
In addition, in cooperation with local fire agencies, Mission
College originates a fire service class seen throughout Santa
Clara County.
Television Facilities
Mission College television facilities are the site for programming "College
by Television" courses on two separate local cable channels.
