Stipend: Students $4500 for 10 weeks.
Free housing in SJSU dormitories and limited travel reimbursement is available to non-local participants.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate standing, with preferably two years of chemistry.
Requirements vary by project, but outstanding candidates at any level and technical major in science or engineering are encouraged to apply.
Preference is given to chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science majors.
Applications are especially encouraged from students at primarily undergraduate institutions and from students who are members of groups underrepresented in science and technology.
Participants must be citizens or permanent legal residents of the US.

  Requirements:
A completed application should include the form, current community college transcript and two letters of reference from community college faculty familiar with your scientific ability.
Selected applicants will be invited to Occidental for an interview with the program director and potential research director.
We strongly encourage applications from women and minority candidates, and all students who plan to continue their academic career at Occidental.
The program is highly selective. We accept only 10 students each summer. Selection is based on your academic record, career potential and interest in the program.
