Program Features:


This program is designed for motivated undergraduate students who are interested in learning about a career in biomedicine and the medical sciences. This program is supported by the National Heart and Blood Institute . Stipend for the eight week period -- currently $1,664 per month, which includes Room (not Board) and travel allowance for transportation to and from San Diego.


An 8-week Research Project conducted in the laboratory of a faculty member in the biomedical sciences

Physician-Scientist Clinical Shadowing Experience
Career Development Seminars

Eligibility: Students with the ethnic status of American Indian or Alaskan Native, Black, Hispanic or Pacific Islander who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States and who have completed, by June, at least their freshman year toward a bachelor's degree in biological sciences are eligible to apply.
