END OF THE TERM

This is the end of the Fall term, and as we prepare to wind down for the year I want to thank everyone - faculty, staff, administration, and most of all the students we serve - for their help in making what could have been a very hard time into a time of change but also a time of growth and opportunity.

We have all had a rough year. The economy has dropped down somewhere into uncharted territory beneath our feet. Most of us have students, friends or family members who have been hit - hard - by the loss of jobs and sometimes of homes. But Mission College always seems to pull together when we're faced by challenges, and this year we have really come together.

January is likely to be more of a challenge. The State budget is already grim, and the word is that it's likely to become grimmer still. We don't know yet what further cuts may face us. But I hope that with all of us working together we can pull through in ways that will ultimately benefit us all. Take some time to rest over the break - we're going to need everyone at full strength in the Spring!
