2. Approval of Agenda
The
Music Department elected to change the course number for MUSIC*003AA and MUSIC*003BB
to MUSIC*006A and MUSIC*006B respectively. For the sake of time, the committee will review the minutes
of November 4, 2002 at the next full CRC meeting. It was MSC (Ensminger/Charland) to approve the agenda
as revised.
3. Approval of Summary Minutes –

4. Course Approvals
a. New Courses – First Reading
None
b. New Courses – Second Reading
(1) CIS*085A – Develop PL/SQL Program
Units – 3.0 Units
Paperwork was not received by the deadline. Will remain on the agenda.
(2) ESL*966 – Applied Grammar and
Editing – 2.0 Units
Changes were made on recommendations from English and ESL collaborative. It was MSC (Ensminger/Retterath) to
approve ESL*966 as a new course.
(3) JPNS*099W – Second Year Japanese
Language – EXP – 3.0 Units
It was MSC (Ensminger/Retterath) to approve JPNS*099W as a new experimental
course.
(4) MUSIC*006A – Musicianship –
4.0 Units
Removed the addition to GE. It was
MSC (Ensminger/Dworak) to approve MUSIC*006A as a new course.
(5) MUSIC*006B – Musicianship –
4.0 Units
Removed the addition to GE. It was
MSC (Dworak/Ensminger) to approve MUSIC*006B as a new course.
(6) MUSIC*030C – Beginning Piano
– 1.0 Unit
There are questions about the lecture and lab hours for this course. After reviewing the MUSIC*030A and 030B
it was discovered the same problems exist on these courses and will need to be
changed. The course approval was
tabled until clarification is received.
(7) MUSIC*031C – Intermediate Piano
– 1.0 Unit
There are questions
about the lecture and lab hours for this course. After reviewing the other MUSIC*031A and 031B it was
discovered the same problems exist on these courses and will need to be
changed. The course approval was
tabled until clarification is received.
(8) PE*004J.2 – Fitness, Competitive
Athlete – 0.5 Unit
Corrected the hours by arrangement and repeatability rationale. Corrected the format of the
textbooks. It was MSC
(Dworak/Charland) PE*004J.2 as a new course.

5. Certificates/Degrees
a. New Certificates/Degrees

Music AA Degree – 34 Units
Updated MUSIC*003A and MUSIC*003B.
Had to table approval of degree because MUSIC*004A and MUSIC*004B have
not been approved as new courses and are listed on the degree requirements. Will remain on the agenda.
(2) WebMaster
Certificate - ?? Units
Electronic version of certificate does not list the requirements; must be
corrected. Paperwork was not received by the deadline. Will remain on the agenda.
b. Revision to Certificates/Degrees
(1) Web
Graphic Design, Multimedia, Graphic Design Certificate
One electronic version of the form was submitted to correct these three
certificates—there must be three different forms submitted. Electronic version of certificates does
not list the requirements; must be corrected. Paperwork was
not received by the deadline. Will
remain on the agenda.
5. New Business
a. Report on Learning Communities
b. The next regularly scheduled Technical
Review Meeting is Monday, November 18th. The next regularly scheduled CRC Meeting will be Monday,
November 25th.
c. Betty stated that her next deadline would
be moved up one month so CRC will not have to rush through approvals and hold
extra meetings. Constituents must
contact their representatives rather than Betty and Jennifer for curriculum
questions. Dianne suggested
additional training for representatives.
Kara suggested the Office of Instruction send an email listing deadlines
and CRC Representatives. An
additional representative (at least an alternate) was recommended for CATA
since it is such a large division.
