6.     New Business

a.     Sociology 021 – The MC Sociology department brought up concerns regarding the articulation of Sociology courses from the surrounding colleges. Currently, there are different Sociology courses between MC and WV (Sociology 021 and Sociology 020 respectively) that are articulated by some UC and CSU as being the same courses.  The Articulation Officer informed CRC that out of 6 schools articulating these two courses, 3 colleges see the two courses as being the same, while three others see them as different courses.  CRC recommended that the Sociology department will need to monitor the situation and work collegially with its counterpart to resolve this issue.

b.     Special Request (Moyers) - Chris Moyers requested to step down as the Social Science representative in CRC due to an overwhelming workload schedule.  Yolanda Coleman will temporarily take over as the Social Science representative for this semester.  Both the Social Science and Natural Science representatives will need to be filled for next semester.  Dianne will take this issue to Academic Senate.

7.     Old Business

a.     Review Status of Online Curriculum Project Nothing to report at this time.

b.    Discuss Policy on Course Overlap - The CRC committee made revisions to the course overlap policy.  Dianne will type the document up and send it to the committee for an email vote.

c.     Systematic Overview of Curriculum:

§       Hours by Arrangement (HBA)– Jane Patton stated that Chancellor Drummond had some concerns regarding zero-loaded hours.  Each course will need to be looked at and determined whether HBA is appropriate.

d.    Guidelines for Inactivation of Old Courses will be tabled to the next meeting.

8.     Adjournment
The next full CRC meeting will be on Monday, November 29th, 2004.  The meeting was adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
