CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS FROM
THE
MC ACADEMIC SENATE
The Mission College Governance and
Planning Council has agreed to revisit its membership and has increased its
number of faculty representatives.
The council will now have three faculty at-large, selected by the
Academic Senate, and two division chairs, selected by the Division Chair
Council.
The MC Academic Senate is seeking
three (3) faculty at-large representatives to serve on the MC Governance and
Planning Council. The Senate
is seeking faculty interested in the future direction of the college and who
are be able to consider the "big picture" and make decisions, in
collaboration with others, that will benefit the entire college.
The council meets on the second
and fourth Wednesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. The charge of the group is to serve as
an overall coordinating body in the governance of Mission College. The body coordinates initiatives
that arise from either internal college business or opportunities presented by
the community. The group serves as
a planning body and provides advice to and consultation with the President and,
at times, through him to the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees. The group serves as a body to whom
appeals can be made if decisions of the constituent bodies are in excessive
conflict.
If you are interested in serving
on this council, please submit your name to the MC Academic Senate Office (via email or call Ext. 5413) by Noon,
Thursday, October 25, 2001.
Thank you.
Jane Patton, President
MC Academic Senate
