IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE

                                               MISSION COLLEGE

                                               ACADEMIC SENATE

 

 

The California Community College Board of Governors (BOG) has asked each college Senate to nominate one program for the 2002 Board of Governors' Exemplary Program Award.  Six programs from across the state will be honored at the BOG meeting in January 2003. 

 

The criteria and information that must be included for the program to be considered are the following:

 

*  Indicate the number of students served by the program.

*  Any additional data that proves the success of the program.

*  A description of the program.

∑ Data demonstrating that the program directly affects students must be included.

∑ Evidence demonstrating the impact of the program must be included.

∑ Evidence of increased access, retention, completion or transfer rates for under-represented groups must be included.

∑ Potential for the program to be replicated across the state must be demonstrated.

∑ Evidence that the program supports students in degree-applicable credit courses who are deficient in basic skills must   be included.

 

The Mission College Academic Senate acknowledges that there are many fine programs on our campus.  A "program" may be an academic discipline or a special project.  If you wish to recommend your program for consideration, please prepare an application in accordance with the required guidelines and criteria listed above.  Submit the completed application to the Mission College Academic Senate Office, Room S1-101, no later than Noon, Thursday, November 14, 2002.
