Middle College Student Preparation

Students entering the Mission Middle College Program come with a variety of skill sets and differing knowledge bases. Ideally, students who are entering as juniors, should have a total of 90 units by the end of their sophomore year.

Students who are successful in our program are independent thinkers, problem-solvers, readers, and lovers of knowledge. Our students act as independent learners who can navigate their schooling in a mature environment that does not hold their hand through every learning experience.

Once admitted to the program, students will be expected to apply to Mission College, get a student number through Admissions and Records, and sit for the placement testing in Reading, English, and Math through the Assessment Center. Students are expected to fulfill these requirements without missing classes at their home high school.
