  • California Department of Motor Vehicles Commercial Driver License Handbook Section 9: Hazardous Materials/Wastes (http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/cdl_htm/sec9_a.htm) – Includes images relating to shipping papers, packages, placards, orange panels, and markings.
  • 49 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) (http://www.myregs.com/dotrspa/) – This non-official site, sponsored by a company that sells shipping labels, provides a simple search interface. Type 173.225 into the search box in the left frame, then open the resulting link and scroll down to 173.225(b) to see the first organic peroxide table related to packaging.
  • eCFR (daily-updated Code of Federal Regulations) (http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/) – The unofficial, non-print current code compiled by the Government Printing Office and National Archives and Records Administration. Click on the Browse link, then select Title 49 from the drop-down list of titles. Finally open section 173.225 and scroll to 173.225(b) to find the table of organic peroxides related to packaging.

Find their Guide for Preparing Shipping Papers by typing “shipping papers” without quotes into the search box. Find a guide on how to use hazardous materials regulations (HMR) by typing “how to hmr” without quotes into the search box.

  • Chemical Hazards Response Information System (online version of the print CHRIS Manual) (http://www.chrismanual.com/) – Provides information needed by the Coast Guard during water transport emergencies. Includes chemical, physical, and biological data. Click on Query Chris Manual link to start a search.
