Now that you’ve enrolled in your courses, its time to prepare to be an effective distance learner. The table below details a few important tasks to accomplish before the start of classes:

 

Important Tasks for Distance Learners
  1. Attend a course orientation.
Download the course syllabus from the class website prior to attending orientation..
  1. For telecourses, check the cablecast schedule.
Check the cablecast schedule for television courses.
  1. Complete ANGEL Student Tutorials
Download the "Getting Started with ANGEL" brochure.
  1. Update your computer resources
Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox 2.0 work best with ANGEL.
  1. Set up a study schedule.

Distance Learning Orientation

What is ANGEL Learning?

Angel Learning is a course management system adopted by Mission College for all classes. When you log into the system, you will see a listing of classes that you are currently enrolled. ANGEL includes all of the course materials and communications resources you will need to be successful in your distance learning courses.

How to Login to ANGEL

  1. Type your Username and Password in the appropriate fields.
     
    Note: Your username is your Student ID number. You can find your Student ID number on the front of your student ID card. Your password is birth date (mmddyy). For example, if your birthdate is March 10, 1984, then your password is 031084.
  2. Click the Log On button.

ANGEL Support

Need help with ANGEL? The ANGEL support website includes interactive tutorials that teach log into ANGEL, use your personal homepage, and navigate in your online course. The FAQ page includes answers to common questions students have about ANGEL.
