Math Faculty Win Recognition

Mission College Academic Senate / Administration awards went to John Nakahama for Teaching Excellence and to Ian Walton for Service to the Community.

Spring 98

At the graduation ceremony on May 30, 1998, it was announced that Doug Edwards had been selected by the graduating class to receive the 1998 Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award.

Division Chair Quin McKean has received a VATEA Grant for Fall 98.

Ian Walton was re-elected to the Executive Committee of the State Academic Senate, and has been appointed chair of their Technology Committee.

Associate Faculty member John Rea has won the 1998 Santa Clara Valley Mathematics Association Outstanding Mathematics Teacher of the Year Award.

Associate Faculty member John Nakahama has won the 1998 Mission College Academic Senate/Administration award for associate faculty excellence.

Division Chair Quin McKean has won the 1998 Mission College Academic Senate/Administration award for Service to the College.

Ian Walton was nominated as Case Professor of the year.

Doug Edwards won the 1997 award for outstanding mathematics teaching from the Santa Clara Valley Mathematics Association.

John Nakahama won the 1997 award for outstanding mathematics teaching from the Santa Clara Valley Mathematics Association.

Tom Shipe won the 1997 recognition award for associate faculty excellence from the Mission College Academic Senate.

Ian Walton won the 1997 recognition award for service to the community excellence from the Mission College Academic Senate.
