Course Overview:
This course will provide basic skills for being a professional event planner.  Credit/No Credit Option.

You Will Learn:

• Meeting planning basics
  
• How to plan a special event
  
• The planning process for events
  
• What techniques can be used to make an event a success.

• Business students with a desire to understand event planning and how it is used in business

Time: Fridays, October 12 and 26, 8:30AM - 10:30AM plus five hours of coursework online between classes.

Instructor: Valorie Carpenter

About the Instructor: Valorie Carpenter has more than 25 years experience in leading marketing organizations including both startup and large corporations in the consumer package goods and technology industries.  She has also run her own marketing consulting business and published extensively on marketing topics.  Valorie has an MBA from Stanford University and a B.S. in Business with departmental honors in Marketing from Indiana University.
