About the BUS 078B Course:

An introduction to business communication examining form, structures and style of written and oral communications as applicable to business.  This course will stress the importance of cultural sensitivity and introduces skills required to be competitively successful in today's global market. Credit/No Credit Option.

Student Outcomes:

At the end of this course you should be able to

  • Evaluate a business message to determine whether it is effective.
  • Recommend techniques to use for better communication across cultures.
  • Compose effective email messages.
  • Write a business memo, letter and report in proper format using correct grammar.
  • Formulate persuasive, sales and negative communications using proper structure.
  • Apply improved business communication skills to employment communication.
