business program.
Meet Mathew Medaxian:

your major?
A. Business
Q. What is
your career goal?
A. I already have a successful business career at a major
retailer and am looking to grow within my current occupation.

many semesters have you attended Mission College?
A. About 9 semesters - since 2001.
Q. When will
you graduate?
A. Spring 2007 - A.S. Business Administration
Q. Why do
you take classes at Mission College in the Business Department?
A. I have always liked the business program at Mission College as
I get to mix with a diverse variety of both instructors and students
with real world experience in Silicon Valley. This is different
than many other choices for colleges; being close to the companies in
Santa Clara is a real plus too. I also like the university
atmosphere at Mission College.
Meet Robert Strecker:
Q. What is
your major?
A. Business
Q. What is
your career goal?
A. I am currently seeking full-time employment as a Product
Manager for a security software company. I want to take my old
skills as a Product Manager at MCI International and combine them with
my new computer security skills gained at Foothill College in a
computer network security training program. Also, my new skills
in Business Law and Psychology from Mission College are improving and
fine-tuning my skills in these areas.
Q. For how
many semesters have you attended Mission College?
A. Three semesters. I have attended college previously and
have a B.S. in Forest Engineering.
Q. When will
you graduate?
A. 2007 - A.S. Business Administration
Q. Why do
you take classes at Mission College in the Business Department?
A. I am updating my thirty years of business experience and
getting an A.S. degree in Business at Mission College. The
training and internet resources today have changed the way we do
business in the world. At Mission College the online and TV
classes give me some flexibility in studying. The library and
Technology Center are first rate facilities and allow me to study
without being distracted.
Meet Jessica Whelan:
Q. What is
your major?
A. Business
Q. What is
your career goal?
A. My career goal is to eventually have my own bookkeeping
business and plan to take the CPA exam in the future.
Q. For how
many semesters have you attended Mission College?
A. Nine semesters.
Q. When will
you graduate?
A. Spring 2007 - A.S. Business Administration, A.A. Accounting
Q. Why do
you take classes at Mission College in the Business Department?
A. I started at Mission College because it was orginally the
closest college to me work and home wise. I recently decided to
come back and finish my degree as I only had a few classes left to
finish up. Since I had started at Mission College, I felt it
would be easier just to finish here as well. As far as business
classes go, business and accounting have always been of interest to me
and one is necessary for the other.
Meet Brian Truong:
Q. What is
your major?
A. Business
Q. What is
your career goal?
A. I plan to get a B.A. in Business/Finance from SJSU then work
as a financial planner or financial analyst.
Q. For how
many semesters have you attended Mission College?
A. 3 semesters
Q. When will
you graduate?
A. I will transfer to SJSU next semester.
Q. Why do
you take classes at Mission College in the Business Department?
A. I came here from Kansas, MO. When I got here I changed
my major from electrical engineering to business so I chose Mission
College to take some lower division courses because I heard Mission was
a decent community college. The school is not too far from where
I live and classes are available for my busy working schedule. I
can also save some money by going to Mission College.
