BIOSC 30 TROPICAL ECOLOGY   4 units
 

This introductory level course is designed for students of all disciplines who are interested in learning about tropical rainforest ecology first-hand by studying at two renowned field stations in Costa Rica. Principles of ecology, biodiversity, and conservation will be emphasized. Costa Rican culture, economy, and public policy and their relationship to resource conservation will be featured. Students will participate in naturalist led hikes, and design and carry out their own ecological studies.

Tropical Ecology can be used to satisfy the GE requirement for a Natural Science with a lab at California State Universities.
