Corey Cafferata begins his 6th season as Head Coach of the Mission Saints Basketball Program. Corey has led the Lady Saints to an 83-60 in his six seasons, which include 3 playoff appearances. In the 2013-14 season the Saints were undefeated Conference Champions. The Mission College basketball program began competition in the fall of 1998; Coach Cafferata has established the Mission Lady Saints as a conference contender in each of his 6 seasons. In addition, Corey Cafferata’s teams have consistently ranked at the top of the State in scoring average. Coach Cafferata earned Coast Conference “Coach of the year” honors following the 2013-14 season.

Coach Cafferata previously spent six seasons at Westmoor High School in Daly City leading his program to four league championships with a Peninsula Athletic League record of 49 straight league wins.

As a Basketball player, Corey is the only player to be inducted to the City of Pacifica's “Hall of Fame”. Corey is Oceana High School's all time leading scorer, with 1,303 points. Corey would later play basketball at Sacramento City College and New College of California where he was named the Big PAC Player of the Year; Corey finished his college career at Florida International University. He also played Professional Basketball in Canada and Mexico. Corey finished his playing career with Athletes in Action.

Coach Cafferata has a Master of Arts Degree in Sports Psychology. Corey has one daughter named Dezzirae.

Kesha Walker
Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball Program

Mission Basketball is proud to announce that Kesha Walker will be an assistant coach in the 2013-14 season. Kesha went to Wilcox high school played 4 years on the varsity basketball team. After high school she came to Mission College and played on their first inaugural Women's basketball team in 1998. Kesha then went on to coach highschool basketball at Fremont High School for 2 years both as a JV and Varsity basketball assistant, the following 8 years Kesha coached at Prospect High School as the Head JV basketball coach. Kesha is proud and excited to be a part of the Mission College Basketball program.
