The purpose of theses questions is to allow you to determine how much algebra you remember and what material you should review in order to be successful in this class.

Questions 1 – 3 cover material found in most Arithmetic classes.

Questions 4 – 9 cover material found in most Elementary Algebra classes and complete what I gave you in class.

Questions 10 - 12 cover material found in most Intermediate Algebra classes.

1) Write using an exponent: 4 · 4 · 4 · 4 · 4

2) Solve: 11 + y = 35

3) Find the average of: 12, 18, 21, 6, 9, 2, 2

4) Factor completely: 10A² – 2A

5) Solve the system 3x – 2y = 5

4x – 5y = 3

6) Solve for Y: B = 5X / Y

7) Rationalize the denominator: ( 2  + Sqrt y) / ( 2 –  Sqrt y)

8) Solve for D: A = B / ( C + D )

9) Solve for x: mx – nx = p³

10) Solve: log₂₇ 3 = y

11) Solve the system: a² + b² = 20
