What are "community colleges?" In California, as in the rest of the U.S., community colleges offer many programs to many different kinds of students. Among others, they offer the first two years of a four-year bachelor' degree.

Our total enrollment is approximately 9,000 students. Over 255 students (as of Spring 2007) from Canada, Mexico and countries throughout Europe, South and Central America, Asia and Africa attend Mission College.

We have many four-year universities nearby to which you can transfer after your complete your studies at Mission College. They include San Jose State University, University of California—Santa Cruz, Santa Clara University and prestigious Stanford University. Within an hour or so, you can also drive to San Francisco State University, California State University East Bay, and the University of California at Berkeley. There are many fine private universities as well.

At Mission College, you can:

  • Complete the first 60 units of your Bachelor' degree, and
  • Earn an Associate of Arts or Sciences Degree, or
  • Transfer the units to a university

You can also attend our intensive English language program, the Institute for International Studies (IIS). It provides English language instruction for international students who need to increase their English proficiency before starting college. It offers the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Test three times per year and has a no-TOEFL admission option for students who complete the highest level.

We have a full-service, one-stop international student office with highly experienced staff members and an international student academic counselor. We take pride in helping each student individually. Please contact us with your questions.
