Andy  Varbel

Faculty, English

Andy taught part-time at both Mission College and De Anza College for nearly a decade prior to becoming a Full-Time Mission College Faculty Member. He teaches all English Composition courses—English 905, 908, 1A, 1B, and 1C—but primarily English 908, 1A, and 1B. At De Anza, he helped create and co-teach more than half a dozen Learning Communities, courses that combined Reading, English, and sometimes Counseling. Andy has research interests in the Romantic Period in British Literature as well as 19th and 20th Century American Poetry.
